THE Bosbury Cider and Blossom Festival chairman Patrick Whitehead is delighted with the success of this year's festival. A profit in excess of £3,000 was achieved enabling them to donate around £1,000 each to the village church, school and hall. WEST Malvern this week suffered the sad loss of one of its most respected residents with the death of Parish Councillor Ron Pearson, less than two years after retiring from his job as contracts manager with construction group Weaver plc. Ron had lived in West Malvern for more than 30 years and was secretary of the village Social Club for ten years. He was co-opted to the Parish Council in December 2006 and had taken an active part in its affairs until the diagnosis of his final illness. A man of charm and integrity, he will be much missed by the village community. There will be a cremation at Worcester next Thursday, May 29, followed by service in St James's Church. more...
