Can you pen a letter for me, George?

SIR - As George Cowley is such a prolific letter writer, I wonder if he would write one for me to Councillor Richard Udall? I am not sure if Mr Udall still lives in England, or has taken up residence in one of his beloved EU countries, because he still has not answered my two questions I asked in my previous letters to him. SIR - In the Worcester News letters recently, Mr Bird accused Councillor Layland of helping to vote through cuts by the council, having abstained in the voting. I am sure Councillor Layland's experience tells him how to vote or when to abstain and, after reading Mr Weaver of the city finance department reporting a shortfall in the Labour Government's funding, obviously economies were necessary.  more...

Mr Bray’s comment was very misleading

SIR - Re Forced out of the market' on Thursday, February 21 by Mr Nunan from Bray Associates. The comments were very misleading. To say they would pay our rent for a month on the new stall was totally untrue. We still had to pay £30. Second, to say we only had to move 10ft was a total understatement. We suggest this person needs a new tape measure.  more...

Mental health services

IN a week which has seen the opening of the state of the art health centre at Prospect View, I read in the Malvern Gazette of February 29 that yet another mental health unit in Malvern is earmarked for closure. This comes not 12 months after the closure of St Anne's Orchard at Link Top and the loss of the much valued service provided there. Presumably that too was a cost saving venture thinly disguised as progress yet what is left to replace it no-one seems to be quite sure beyond the site of a once magnificent building now rapidly becoming a dilapidated eyesore and completely unsaleable to boot! It seems the same fate now awaits the eight bedded Sheffield House in Barnards Green.  more...
