Services pride

I FIND myself spitting mad at the reports that our servicemen are having to be advised NOT to wear British uniform in the streets of British towns and cities because the yob culture that is so widespread today will make fun of them! But apparently they are also the targets of older people too! I am simply aghast at the implications of this. We have now arrived at a situation where the wearing of BRITISH uniforms in BRITISH streets is likely to cause injury to our servicemen! Obviously it is not enough simply to rage and rant at the worthless specimens of humanity which carry out this mockery; we must ask ourselves what can be done. If the pathetic and contemptible objects who are verbally abusing our service personnel are not going to respect the Queen's uniform, we must ask ourselves whether the law can be changed to ensure that our servicemen and women, who put their lives on the line abroad, can be respected and so permitted to wear their uniform with pride in the towns and cities of their own country. It is indeed coming to something when it becomes unsafe to wear British uniform in Britain, when the population is unable to distinguish between those who carry out the politicians' orders and the politicians themselves. How much lower can this country sink?  more...

He also distributed a list of grants made to local organisations totalling £7,870 made by WestFest out of the surplus from last year's events. Full details can be seen on the recently updated WestFest web site at www.west-fest.org.  more...
