Coen brothers latest come sto Malvern

THE award-winning film No Country For Old Men is showing at Malvern Cinema from Friday, February 29. The Coen brothers film stars Tommy Lee Jones alongside Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin and is set in the Rio Grande. The film follows the violence and mayhem that ensue after a hunter stumbles upon some dead bodies, a stash of heroin and more than $2 million in cash. The film is rated 15 and is showing daily at 7.45pm with matinees at 4.30pm on Saturday, Sunday and Thursday.   more...

A BENEFIT cheat has been successfully prosecuted and will have to pay back nearly £5,000 to Bromsgrove District Council. Geoffrey Kirby, aged 65, of Austin Road, Bromsgrove, pleaded guilty, at Redditch magistrates court, to a charge of dishonestly failing to give prompt notification of a change in his circumstances, namely that he had a non-dependant living at his property.This resulted in an overpayment of housing and council tax benefit totalling £4,938.26 covering the period June 5, 2005, to November 12, 2007.Redditch magistrates sentenced Kirby to a 12 month supervised community order and awarded £100 costs to Bromsgrove District Council. Hair raid

A BREAK-IN at a Cofton Hackett hairdressers is being investigated by Bromsgrove police.Thieves broke into Barnett Fair Hairdressers, on the Lickey Road, through the roof and searched the premises, taking a number of items, including cosmetics worth a total of £160. The raid happened between 4pm on Saturday, February 16, and 9.30am on Monday, February 18.
